Quacktastic Book Taco Contest!

Super User Spotlight: A Quacktastic Book Taco Contest!

At Chapel Hill Junior High, students aren’t just reading—they’re collecting rubber ducks as trophies for their independent reading success! 🦆📚

Meet Sarah Taylor, the school’s Book Taco Super User, who turned reading engagement into a fun, school-wide challenge! Using Book Taco activities, she created bingo cards for her students. Each time a student completes an activity in Book Taco, they mark their bingo card. Once they score a bingo, they get a prize—a rubber duck to show off their achievement!

But that’s not all... the class period with the most ducks at the end of the year wins a party hosted by Sarah! 🎉 Teachers are thrilled because students are using Book Taco more consistently while developing strong independent reading habits.

This creative approach gamifies literacy, builds motivation, and fosters friendly competition—all while reinforcing comprehension skills.
